Curt Patrouille gave a great lecture tonight on resilience and bouncing back in the face of adversity. When tough times come, we can break, bounce to where we were before, or we can become stronger through it. He talked about two main ways that we can become stronger and happier. The first is to hunt the good stuff. He recommends physically writing 3 good things that happened each day and reflect on what caused those things to happen. Focusing on the good, rather than the negative, allows even the worst days to be better. The second tool he talked about was having active constructive responses. This means taking genuine interest in others and making them feel important. This will help grow your relationships with others and create a support network for when things do get tough.
